Top 5 LEGO® Themes of 2025

Overview
After another great year of LEGO releases, here are my overall best themes. The rankings are based on a mix of theme volume, quality, diversity, and greatness of the sets. For more information about all the sets in each theme, click on the name of the theme to see tier rankings for all the sets in that theme.
This theme had some amazing sets this year that both children and adults can appreciate. With 25 sets including 1 promotional, there is a wide range of prices, sizing, and individual IPs within the Disney and Pixar family.
MOST NOTABLE SETS:
Star Wars has always been one of the biggest LEGO themes and it is no different this year. With 34 sets including 3 promotional sets, there is a wide range of prices and sizing. The most expensive set in history up to this point was introduced in this theme. Even if there are less S tier sets in this theme, there is no denying that some of the coolest sets this year are in this theme.
MOST NOTABLE SETS:
This theme is often confused with the Icons theme, but they are different. This theme allows fans to submit designs for new LEGO sets, vote for their favorites, and the most popular ones get reviewed by LEGO designers to potentially become official retail products. This theme had 14 sets this year including 4 promotional ones. It has the some of the coolest variety of sets this year.
MOST NOTABLE SETS:
If you're unfamiliar, LEGO Ninjago is a popular franchise featuring a fantasy world of ninja heroes, dragons, mechs, and villains. It is centered around the martial art of Spinjitzu and a sprawling story told across LEGO sets. There is a hit animated TV series, movies, and video games, encouraging creative storytelling and imaginative play for kids. This theme has some of the coolest, underrated sets in all of LEGO history. With 27 sets this year and a variety of prices and sizes, you really can't go wrong with a set from this theme.
MOST NOTABLE SETS:
This is the theme that was made for adults. It has huge builds and it is specifically designed to be challenging, but rewarding. There are landmarks, buildings, vehicles, and pop culture references. The lineup for this year was absolutely incredible and it is easily my number 1 theme in 2025. It had 19 sets with 2 promotional ones.

Although not the biggest theme in terms of number of sets (11 including a promotional), this theme is one of the best in terms of gift giving. Any of the sets would be great for making someone feel loved and appreciated, or even just great for interior design. You really can't go wrong with a beautiful arrangement of flowers that won't die on you if you forget to water it. This theme easily has the most versatile gifts for anyone, even if they're not a traditional fan of LEGO sets.
